From the Superintendent

Superintendent of Schools

Greetings UISD Employees:

Congratulations on completing yet another exciting and successful 2009-2010 school year. I hope it has been an enriching and rewarding experience for all UISD employees. On behalf of everyone who is part of the UISD team, I would like to extend a sincere thank you for your continued commitment to the success of our District.

This month will provide us with an opportunity to witness the combined success of all our efforts as our four high schools: United, Alexander, United South and Lyndon B. Johnson High School will be graduating the Class of 2010. Over 2,000 students will walk across the stage at the Laredo Energy Arena to receive their diploma on May 27th and May 28th. Although bittersweet for many, graduation marks at least twelve years of perseverance and more importantly a new beginning! Members of this class have demonstrated mastery in meeting all of the requirements of the State of Texas. Congratulations to the graduates of 2010! I commend the students and their families on achieving this milestone. Of course, this would not be possible without the entire UISD team: administrators, teachers, counselors, staff members, and all who instruct, guide and encourage our students with their academic careers.

I wish all of you a safe and restful summer. Thank you, again, for all your dedication and support.

Best regards,
