Psychological Services

The Psychological Services Department is staffed with four Social Workers, four Behavior Intervention Specialists, and four Licensed Specialists in School Psychology. The LSSP’s primary role entails an evaluation of students to determine if there may be a disability as defined by federal law. They also provide therapeutic counseling to individual students and support the general needs of the campus by providing consultative services to administrators or teachers. Behavior Intervention Specialists assist in developing educational or behavioral goals for students. They also might suggest specific techniques or strategies to be used in helping students reach those goals. Social Workers are primarily responsible for coordinating and integrating school and community resources. They are responsible for initiating special education referral process and providing transitional services for students attending federal/state/local programs and private schools.
