United Independent School District’s 2025 Summer Job Fair was a resounding success, attracting more than 900 enthusiastic job seekers eager to explore career opportunities with UISD. The event took place June 4th in the cafeteria of Elias Herrera Middle School.
Every UISD school and department was represented, with principals, vice principals, directors, and staff on hand to greet applicants, answer questions, and conduct on-the-spot interviews. The fair buzzed with energy as attendees came prepared with resumes, filled out applications on-site, and took advantage of immediate networking opportunities.
The lines moved quickly as job candidates moved from table to table in search of a perfect job opportunity. Adding to the welcoming atmosphere, the familiar scent of fresh popcorn filled the air as HR staff distributed free bags —now a popular tradition at UISD job fairs. Human Resources staff were also available to assist candidates with online applications using on-site computers.
The event was coordinated by Associate Superintendent David R. Canales and his team, who were thrilled by the strong turnout.
“We are extremely pleased with the response,” said Canales. “We encourage all applicants to make sure their applications are complete and include all required documents, such as reference letters.”
For those who were unable to attend, job openings remain available and can be found online. Interested applicants can visit www.UISD.net to view the complete list of available positions and submit their applications.
UISD is currently hiring for a wide range of positions, including: teachers, teacher aides, special education aides, librarians and counselors, assistant principals, nurses, bus drivers and monitors, police officers and security guards, custodians, groundskeepers, cafeteria workers and drivers.
Substitute positions were also open for applications. This round closed on June 9th, but another window of opportunity will open later this year.
