Sames Kia of Laredo continues to promote the importance of daily school attendance as they announced the 8th Annual “Kia in the Klassroom” Car Giveaway program. Details of the program were discussed this morning at a press conference held at the Sames Kia Dealership located at Mann Road and IH-35. Students from United, United South, J.B. Alexander, and L.B. Johnson High Schools, as well as student activity coordinators and school administrators, attended the press conference. This year the program has been revised to reflect current circumstances. Students with commended attendance will be eligible to participate in this year's contest.
The Sames Family has been serving the automotive needs of Laredo and surrounding communities for over 110 years. The Sames “Kia in the Klassroom” program was created in 2013 to encourage the importance of daily school attendance at the high school level throughout the school year. The program is open to all high school students enrolled in United ISD high school, from 9-12 grades. The winner will also have the tax, title, and license paid for by the Laredo Federal Credit Union and A& K World Class Driving School will offer two driver’s free education tuition packages.
“As we celebrate our 60th anniversary as a school district, our focus continues to be providing our students with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom,” said Superintendent David H. Gonzalez. He concluded, “Because of Sames Kia, our students have an additional incentive to attend classes regularly.”
