United Council Of Parents (UCOP) - September 13, 2023

Welcome to UISD’s Department of Federal and State Compensatory Programs. Our department’s mission is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. The Department of Federal and State Programs provides support to low income and at-risk United ISD students and ensures compliance by guiding campuses and departments on the use of Federal and State funds. Our programs are designed to supplement the regular education programs for students identified as being at-risk of dropping out of school as well as to provide challenging and meaningful, intensive or accelerated instruction to close the achievement gaps. In addition, our office oversees the district’s Family and Community Engagement Program to provide families with opportunities to strengthen learning opportunities for their children, McKinney-Vento Homeless Education, Foster Care, Migrant Education Program, Prevention/Intervention Programs for Children and Youth Who Are Neglected, Delinquent or At-Risk, Private Non Profit School Support, and the After School Childcare Program.

Our department manages funding and fiscal compliance guidance to campuses and departments for the following programs: Title I, Part A (Improving Basic Programs), Title I, Part C (Migrant Education), Title I, Part D (Prevention and Intervention Programs for Children and Youth Who Are Neglected, Delinquent, or At-Risk), Title II, Part A (Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting), Title III, Part A (English Language Acquisition), Title IV, Part A (Student Support and Academic Enrichment), State Compensatory Education and the After School Adventures Program.
