Family Engagement Plan

In line with House Bill 3's High-Quality Prekindergarten guidelines, United I.S.D. has established a Family Engagement Plan to build a strong partnership between our school, families, and community. Together, we are committed to fostering initiatives that ensure our prekindergarten students achieve successful outcomes.

"The mutual responsibility of families, schools, and communities to build relationships to support student learning and achievement, support family well-being, and the continuous learning and development of children, families, and educators. Family engagement is fully integrated in the child’s educational experience and is both culturally and linguistically appropriate." Texas Administrative Code §102.1003.

Transition Activities:

United ISD supports elementary transitions through stakeholder engagement. Key activities include: Grade Level Meet the Teacher Orientations for families and students to connect with teachers; Supply Drop-off & Family Meet & Greet for students to drop off supplies and families to meet staff; Head Start Family Tours for PK families to learn about the program; Middle School Registration Sessions & Tours for new students and families; and Transition Planning Meetings for students with IEPs to create individualized plans with parents and staff.

Conclusion:

The United ISD HQPK Family Engagement Plan serves as a strategic framework to direct and facilitate collaborative efficacy among all participating stakeholders. The establishment and maintenance of constructive relationships between district personnel, community collaborators, and families are imperative for fostering the academic, social, and personal development of students within the United ISD educational system.
